An iconic hit that made Britney Spears the world wide superstar she has become today, shows like Glee have even covered and re-created the "rebellious schoolgirl" video, this just shows how iconic the video is. The "cheesy pop" genre which makes the song all the much better was the reason Britney became such a super star.
It was released on October 23, 1998 through Jive Records, as Spears debut single of her career, and as the first single from the album. The teen pop song, speaks about a girl who regrets breaking up with her boyfriend, and wants him back. The track opens with an intro in which Spears says the phrase "Oh baby baby", that was later used in several singles, such as "Oops!... I Did It Again" (2000) and "If U Seek Amy" (2008).
Below is the original "Hit Me Baby One More Time" video.
Below, Glee's version, the video has been mirrored from its original shot due to copyright from the video i have embedded this off, so it does not look spot on.
